The main components of hot melt cotton are styrene thermoplastic elastomers. The advantages of hot melt cotton are solvent-free, air pollution-free and high productivity. But the disadvantage is lack of heat resistance and cohesion. New thermoplastic elastomers, such as SEBS, SEPS and epoxidized SBS, are used to prepare high performance hot melt cotton. The New Acrylate block copolymer has good heat resistance, oxidation stability, UV stability, good adhesion to HDPE, stainless steel, glass, polystyrene, acrylic board, polycarbonate, nylon, polypropylene and other materials, and can be used to make medical tapes, transparent films, labels and so on. Acrylic acid polymer and water-soluble polymer are used to make hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive hot-melt cotton which can be dispersed in water. Acrylic acid polymer is dispersed in weak alkali water solution into non-adhesive particles less than 100 microns. It is easy to separate and suitable for recycling old paper. Acrylate monomer containing benzophenone group was copolymerized to obtain acrylic acid copolymer with low Tg. Hard cotton was used as hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive. It was easy to cross-link under UV irradiation. It had the advantages of no photoinitiator and no residual problem of initiator. It could be hot-melt coated at low temperature (120-140 C). It had low VOC, low odor, no skin irritation and good thermal stability.
